Fitting of kitchens and bathrooms in the east wing has started
Following on from the appointment of a designer to create a grand design for the two large glass central atriums in February, balustrades have now been fitted in the area and pendulum lights have been ordered to be installed on each atrium floor level.
With the first electrical fix fully finished, work on the second electrical fix has commenced – with 60% already completed.
Whilst the data (internet) first fix has been finished and the second fix is underway, both the construction of the electricity substation and the installation of the solar panels are 90% complete.
The first fix of the joinery is progressing onsite, alongside the first fix of the fire alarm.
As the scheme is on target to complete in middle of Q3 2018, the fitting of the kitchens and bathrooms has commenced in the east wing.
Externally, the roof tiling is now fully complete and the scaffolding is being dismantled along with the crane – which has been taken off-site.
In regards to lettings, the developer was earlier approached by the NHS to rent apartments at Canterbury Hall for their consultants.
To cater for this they have now achieved a change of use to students apprentices and key workers, and the NHS are taking on 12 units this year, to potentially increase this to 30 units next year on a 4 year basis.
Including these apartments that the NHS are set to rent, 45% of the whole development is now pre-let.
