Calderdale House Care Home Investment

The Calderdale House care home held its first official open day last month, as it prepares to welcome the first tenants to this state of the art residence.

This completed development is home to a mix of both standard residential care suites and specialist dementia suites, allowing Calderdale to cater to the varied needs of the local area.

The open day, run by the staff of the care home, welcomed prospective residents, their families and local partners, to offer all interested parties the opportunity to explore the facility’s 81 suites, in addition to the various communal areas available for residents to enjoy.

Following an initial visit from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Calderdale Retreat, as the care home will be known in the local area, is scheduled to open its doors to its first residents by the end of this month.

Manager of Calderdale House, Carley Rawlinson, explained how the team at the care home are now looking forward to officially opening the care home and making use of the development’s many facilities.

‘We can’t wait to start doing what we do best and provide the highest standard of care for residents in the local area. The Local Authority has already been in touch to discuss moving people in as soon as possible.

‘They are desperate for space in local hospitals and other care homes. Calderdale Retreat can provide specialised care for those in need – whether they are state or privately funded.’

The demand for a place at Calderdale is already extremely high for a new care home – with a waiting list of 15 potential residents already in place ahead of the official opening.

Ms Rawlinson also said that whilst there is strong demand from the local area, the focus of the care home staff, 13 of whom are already working on site ahead of the opening, will be focused on ensuring that all residents are receiving the highest standard of care.

‘We believe on ensuring the quality of our care first and foremost. The best way to build Calderdale Retreat’s reputation as a care home with the highest standards to make certain that our residents are fully settled and comfortable.

‘Our feeling is that Calderdale does not feel like a traditional nursing home – it feels like an actual home.’

Brian Taylor, of TLC Care Homes (Yorkshire) Limited, said: ‘We are excited to present the completed build at Calderdale House to the local market and we are looking forward to seeing the first residents arrive on-site.

‘With the construction process has now been fully completed, our focus is now on making sure that investors enjoy as smooth a process as possible.’

He went on to say: ‘With Carley and her team, we are looking to achieve maximum occupancy here at Calderdale House, working to make the development a vital and successful part of the care network here in Yorkshire.’
