Following the removal of scaffolding at the site, the construction of Kingfisher House continues as the exterior receives finishing touches.
The Kingspan cladding and roofing is now virtually complete with only the surrounds to the staircase glazed pods requiring attention.
Installation of the windows is now virtually complete, with the curtain walling to the glazed staircase pods now beginning following the removal of the scaffolding on the outside of the structure.
Internally, level +7 is now fully plastered and door sets have been fitted. In these units, kitchens are also being fitted and the bathrooms have second fix plumbing completed, including shower trays, glazed doors, heated towel rail, WC and sink.
On levels +6 and +5, plastering has been fully completed and the specialist trade is working progressively down the building following the plumbing first fix and the glazed tiling to the bathrooms.
There will also be a major influx of labour on site in the coming weeks to accelerate this trade, with a consequential benefit of freeing areas of the development earlier than anticipated, allowing for completed areas to become available to following trades.
The internal Mechanical & Electrical fit out is progressing and is generally keeping ahead of the following trades both first and second fix.
Major plant room equipment is installed and the water tank is in and tested providing water to all floors. Electric power is available on the two top floors and will be available as work progresses down the building.
Studio apartments at Kingfisher House now have an extremely limited availability, with just 3 units remaining.
