Progress continues diligently at Kingfisher House as the external cladding and window installation approach completion.
Following on from June’s construction update, stone feature walling to the lower four floors is now virtually complete and the exterior cladding is fully installed around nearly 65% of the building. All cladding is now on site and is ready to be installed, including the external Bump Out areas.
The installation of the windows has also been completed in areas where the external stonework has been finished. The installation process will continue as windows are fitted in the upper floors as the exterior cladding is completed on each level.
Inside the building, the interior walls have now been fully laid out, with the erection of the metal partition supports currently underway across all levels of the building.
Plasterboard has now been installed on the inner face of the external walls from the podium floor to the first floor, with installation due to continue on all inner walls once the metal partition supports are fully completed.
Work has continued on providing the essential utilities for the site, with 60% of the electrical mains distribution now complete and hot and cold water services have the equivalent of one floor fixed.
Elsewhere on site, the contractor site facilities have been moved to within the block, allowing there to be greater site access and storage space as additional trades begin their work on the development. The site area is also being cleared to allow for the construction of the permanent access road.
With construction continuing to take place at the expected rate, the construction team are confident that Kingfisher House will be completed by the end of January 2017.
