The external stonework feature walls are nearing completion as the installation of the external cladding and windows begins at Kingfisher House in Huddersfield.
Stonewall installation began in April and is now nearing completion on the bottom four floors of the development. With the stonework nearly complete, the installation of the exterior Kingspan cladding can now commence on the upper floors of the building.
In the areas where the stonework has been completed, the construction team is now beginning the installation of the windows on the lower floors, with the upper floors to follow as and when the cladding is completed on each level. In addition, the roof decking and covering is complete and sealed.
Inside the development, the process of partitioning has also begun, with the installation of the metal partition supports throughout the building. Plasterboard has also been fitted to the inner face of the external wall in the position of the timber inner skin.
The ground drainage system for the development is due to be installed following the core drilling of the concrete floors. The rainwater pipework has now been installed across all floors of the development.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, the practical completion date for Kingfisher House has now been revised from September 2016 to January 2017. With construction continuing to take place at the expected rate, the construction team are confident that the new deadline for completion will be fully met.
