The new exterior of Sunderland's unique buy-to-let apartments is beginning to take shape
The brand-new external cladding is now being installed to the exterior of Horizon as the final windows are being fitted following the progress in February’s construction update.
The cladding has already been installed on the ground and first floor and is some 20% completed to the rest of the floors, whilst almost all of the building’s outdated windows have been replaced, with just half of the first floor’s windows and the ground floor left to be fitted.
Internal works continue to progress, with room partitioning completed on every floor, and side plasterboards have been fixed on the ground and 1st to 4th floors.
First-fix electrics have been installed to the 1st to 4th floors and the 8th and 9th floors, whilst first-fix plumbing has been completed from the ground floor to the 5th.
With the exception of the 9th floor, every floor’s common area has had plumbing and ventilation installed. Meanwhile, plastering has been finished on the 2nd floor and has progressed to the 3rd floor.
PrinvestUK recently spoke to the Developer behind Horizon, and the building's new Rental Manager, in a series of interviews you can find here.
Unique to the city's rental property market, Horizon buy-to-let studios has been modelled on the success of the co-living model seen in major city centres around the world, offering young professionals and students in Sunderland an entirely new way of living.
Its special range of communal facilities will be accessible to tenants only, setting it apart from other developments in the city at competitive rates, and offers investors a 9% NET rental return (excl. ground rent) for 3 years.
