UK Fourth Best for Residential Property Investment

The UK has been ranked as the fourth best country in the world to invest in residential property according to a new report.

In research conducted by Savills, the UK has continued appeal for investors thanks to its ongoing economic stability, growth prospects and the growing population, all combining to create an excellent location for property investment.

The UK finished just behind the USA, the UAE and Singapore to reiterate its position as one of the world’s leading residential property investment markets.

The research focused on the capital appreciation potential of property investments in each country. With house prices in the UK steadily rising due to a shortage of supply in properties and the continued high demand for homes, the climate is favouring buy-to-let property investors.

The sustained high performance of the UK property market in 2015 has been a surprise for many economists, with both IHS Global and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) increasing their estimates for annual growth in UK house prices to 7% and 6% respectively.

An increase in annual house prices will continue to attract property investors from all over the world as the UK rental market continues to grow. As rental figures continue to rise, the demand for rental accommodation will rise with many first-time buyers simply being priced out of the market.
